Skyline Displays, Inc. was founded in 1980 to provide exhibitors with lightweight exhibit systems that were portable and reusable. Skyline has evolved as the industry and exhibitors needs changed and now provides large-format graphics and structural exhibits as well as a full line of portable displays.

Perhaps the most important quality of Skyline's first exhibit, the " Shotel," was that it fit inside the K-Car trunk. The USAF also liked its simplicity. Everything on it was attached, including the lights, so the parts weren't going to be lost. It was also inexpensive — a great benefit considering the price of money. The Shotel was one of the industry's first curved displays. A construction shelter used for drying concrete inspired the design. But that's another story.

The goal in creating the Reflex?was to design a portable display that was as easy to put up and take down as a lawn chair. Like the Shotel, the Reflex fit into two cases, but it was quicker to set up. Reflex was selected as the product name because it was supposed to reflect that the customer didn't have to think about how to assemble it.

When the Mirage 'pop-up' display was developed, the rest of the trade show industry was using an aluminum frame, which was lightweight and inexpensive but prone to bending and breaking. Mirage's strong yet flexible fiberglass frame made it virtually indestructible as a trade show display. Its seamless look and round end panels set the standard for pop-up displays and has yet to be matched.

Inc. magazine, best known for its annual list of the fastest-growing private companies in the country, has twice honored Skyline as an " Inc. 500 Company" for rapid growth.

A thousand Skyline people, focused on one objective, created a spirit and energy that was intoxicating in its power. Skyline employees from across the nation and around the world came together for four days to build a playground in Burnsville, Minnesota. The playground, Skyland, continues to stand as a tribute to people working to make a difference in their community.

Skyline was one to invest in digital direct graphics for trade show graphics production. Since 1992 Skyline has been receiving and printing digital graphics. Today almost 100 percent of our graphics arrives as a digital file.

Skyline Displays, Inc. was the first trade show exhibit manufacturer to receive the coveted ISO 9001 Certification. The honor certifies that Skyline has established control processes that meet international standards of manufacturing quality, all the way from order entry, design, manufacturing, through to customer service.

Skyline revolutionized exhibiting by developing products that made sense. Its portable exhibits were lightweight, easy to set up, easy to transport, and modular for flexibility. With SkyTruss, Skyline brings that same logic to the large exhibit arena. SkyTruss collapses flat for ease of storage and shipment, yet still provides the strength necessary to construct almost any design imaginable.

Skyline's new 280,000 square foot facility in Eagan, Minnesota, brings together all aspects of exhibit production including exhibit design, engineering, manufacturing, graphic production, and exhibit construction under one roof. It's been a boon for efficiency, communications, quality and project support.
