Baghouses came into widespread use in the late 1970s after the invention of the high-temperature resisitant fabrics ( filter media) capable of withstanding temperatures over 300° C. Unlike other dust collection systems where performance may differs significantly depending on process and electrical conditions, functioning baghouses typically have a particulate collection efficiency of 99% or the efficiency can be even better when particle size is very small.
