The pumping element is a main subassemblly of the fuel injection pump.It raises the pressure of the fuel at a very high level and forces in through the injectors and at a metered quantity to the combustion chamber of the enine.At the same time, the pumping element ensures the starting moment of the injection process and its duration, being also responsable process and its duration, being also responsable for the performances of the engine in the terms of fuel economy and exhaust emission.The pumping element has a piston and a barrel manufactured within very tight tolerances, to avoid fuel leakage during the injection process.
