Established in 2010 and based in Hong Kong, webster consultancy Ltd., provides outside industries with the opportunity to source their products from the emerging and lucrative markets of guangdong province in southern China. Although we are a relatively new company and we have been working within China for over 8 years, our target is to help small and medium companies, to enter and be successful in the China market. We also work with larger companies who have realised that having a contact person on location to answer any questions that may arise, is a quick and cost efficient solution to their advantage.

The old way to solve problems with Chinese partners was to send many emails make expensive calls or fly over for a factory visit. This pushed the production cost up which caused incompletion of the projects, and hence many good products or ideas were discontinued.

Financially, it is general practice in China; A 20 to 50 percent deposit is required during the progress of production. Without seeing a finished product, you are even required to complete final payment and the shipping cost upon completion of the production. Without a quality control, unless an expensive visit to the supplier was taken, under the motto you take what you get. Sometimes causing extreme disappointment on arrival, for a lot of companies this was a too great of a risk to take.

After experiencing these problems myself I decided to start an independent company, who represents the interests of both the suppliers and customers to bridge any business or cultural differences that may arise. There are many good professional companies in China just waiting for your calls.
