Gorenje D. D., was found in the year 1950-1960 in a village with the same name. In 1958 the plant begins manufacturing stoves, moves to Velenje and builds own production plant.

In the 70s diversification of activities to production of washing machines and refrigerators begins.

In the 80s Gorenje starts acquisition of the companies with synergy to the Gorenje core business. Beginning of own distribution network in the West with establishment of companies in Germany, Austria, France, Denmark, Australia and Italy.

In the 90s Gorenje is focusing towards the field where it had the most experience and the best products - household appliances. Its position in the foreign markets is getting stronger every day.

Today Gorenje is a public company which is intensively investing into new products and technology: Opening up of new markets, ecologically-sound and cutting-edge technologies, etc.
