In 2002, Shanghai China Nuclear Weisi Instrument Co., Ltd (Weisi) was founded by Shanghai Puyuan Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China Nuclear Group, along with several other organizations. After years of R&D, Weisi had launched its ultrasonic gas flow meter product with in-house technology. Up to now, Weisi is the only China company providing this product.

With the world class technology, Weisi was the first to introduce field volume display product, and the pioneer in small diameter and low pressure pipeline application. In 2005, Weisi ultrasonic gas flow meter was listed in National Torch Program; In 2008, it was honored as Shanghai Important New Product; In 2009, Weisi was granted as Shanghai Hi-tech Company, and was listed in Important First Locally Developed Equipments Subsidy Grogram by National Development Committee and National Energy Bureau; In 2010, Weisi product was honored as Mass Produced Hi-tech Product by Shanghai government.

With leading technology, wide product range, and great quality, Weisi ultrasonic gas flow meter was the mainstream flow meter in nation natural gas pipeline grid, and was used in municipal gas pipelines, end user custody transfer, as well as special venting system and process control. In CNPC's West to East Gas Pipeline, Sinopec's Sichun to East Gas Pipeline, CNOOC's LNG project, as well as every other domestic or overseas project, Weisi product is metering the gas precisely and stably, requiring nearly no maintenance effort at the same time.
