Aluminum Corporation of China Limited Shandong Branch (namely Shandong branch of CHALCO) is listed on the overseas stock market and was formed after consecutively restructuring the former Shandong Aluminum Corporation. Our company is located in Zibo, Shandong, which used to be the capital center in the central area of Shandong Province. North to Huanghe River and south to Mountain Tai, with national railway and super highway running across Zibo, with Qingdao Seaport and Yantai Port nearby, Shandong Aluminum enjoys advantageous location, extended cultural background and convenient transportation.

Shandong Aluminum used to be one of the 156 key construction projects of the state during the first five-year plan. Our company was set up and put into production on July 1st, 1954 as the first ever alumina producer in mainland China. For 12 years since our company came into being, we have been the sole undertaker of alumina provider for the whole country. We are one of the first 40 national technological centers and one of the 512 state-owned enterprises that enjoy special supports. Now our company is reputed as the cradle of China's aluminum industry. On DEC 11th and 12th in 2001, CHALCO was successfully listed on the New York and Hong Kong Stock Markets.

After almost 60 years' development, our company has now turned into a large sized comprehensive enterprise mainly operating alumina, alumina chemicals, and smelter aluminum, which involves mining, refining, fabricating, research and development, mechanical arching, construction and engineering, heat and power supply, as well as internal and external sale. More than 130 types of products are widely used in the fields such as metallurgy, chemical industry, civil construction, state security, science, transportation, communication, electronic industry, light industry, medical industry, package material and endurable life applications and other industries. Our company has an annual output of 1 million tons of alumina and 700 thousand tons of alumina chemicals. We are one of the six alumina producing bases in China, and are designated by CHALCO to be the base for alumina chemicals.
