Central Southern China Electric Power Design Institute (CSEPDI) of China Power Engineering Consulting Group Corporation, located on Minzhu Road, Wuchang, Wuhan, and founded in 1954 under China Power Engineering Consulting Group Corporation, is a domestic well-known enterprise with abundant comprehensive strength in power design and EPC contracting.

CSEPDI boasts Class A engineering design comprehensive qualification(including EPC contracting and project management) and Class A qualifications for comprehensive engineering survey, engineering consultation, cost consultation, environmental impact assessment, preparation of water & soil conservation schemes for construction projects, projects tendering agency, geological disaster control engineering, geological disaster fatalness evaluation and mapping and pressure pipe design permit certificate, together with operation qualification certificates for contracting overseas projects and certificate for high-tech enterprise. In 1996, CSEPDI passed the ISO9001 Quality Management System Certification and had been awarded certificates of the Quality Management System(GB/T 19001 idt ISO 9001), Environmental Management System(GB/T 24001 idt ISO 14001) and Occupational Health & Safety Management System(GB/T 28001) in 2006.

Ever since 1993, CSEPDI has consecutively been listed among TOP100 enterprises for comprehensive investigation and design capacity in China. As a knowledge-intensive enterprise, CSEPDI boasts abundant talent resource, and a high-leveled, high-quality, reasonably structured team, covering the field of survey, design, EPC, environmental protection, as well as IT and software, and etc. Presently, it has 1661 employees, including 1 national-level design masters, 14 experts entitled to the Special Allowance of the State Council, 137 professor-level senior engineers, 632 senior engineers, 421 engineers, 215 assistant engineer and 360 public chartered professionals.

Over the past six decades, CSEPDI has designed power generation, power transmission and transformation projects in 29 provinces, cities and autonomous regions and more than 30 countries. By the end of 2013, CSEPDI had designed over 200 power generation projects that were put into operation totaling over 79740 MW capacity, including five 1000 MW units, twenty-nine 600 MW units, and ninety-seven 300 MW units. Over 210 power transformation projects designed by CSEPDI had been put into operation totaling over 152.36 million kVA, including 106 power transformation projects above 500KV. It had also designed over 310 power transmission projects totaling over 37, 366km in length, including 30, 719km of line above 500kV.
