ADI is a kind of metallic structural material combining both austenite (high toughness) and acicular ferrite (high strength and high abrasion resistance), which is obtained by means of austempering of normal nodular cast iron. Its performance is much better than that of normal nodular cast iron and steel in the following aspects:
1. Very high strength, high abrasion resistance, and appropriate toughness;
2. Excellent shock absorption performance, with its working noise being 1. 5decibel lower than that of steel;
3. With cryogenic property being better than steel, it is good for use at low temperature;
4. Continuous air hardening performance during working process. Working surface will generate air-hardening effect continuously during process of operation, which can continuously improve the strength and abrasion-resisting effect.
