Grenzebach Maschinenbau GmbH had its humble beginnings as a repair shop for farm equipment. Josef Grenzebach, the father of the Chairman of the Board Rudolf Grenzebach, opened the shop in 1920.

Rudolf Grenzebach founded the company Grenzebach Maschinenbau in 1960 and began, with seven employees at the time, to build up production for conveyor technology.The picture below shows the mechanics shop in 1922, at its location in the center of the village Hamlar.

The first steps led to the production of gravel transportation conveyor belts and gravel processing plants.

Towards the end of the 70's, an electronics department was gradually developed, representing a decisive supplement to the mechanical engineering.

Later, processing plants were developed for the production of cheese in dairies, or for the furniture industry.

In the mid-70's, Grenzebach entered into flat glass production technology, which is still one of the pillars upon which the company stands today.

Today, the electronics department develops the automation for the processing systems that are produced in mechanical engineering, contributing substantially to the good worldwide market position of Grenzebach products.
