Zhuhai Southern Software Park of China is one of the earliest software parks approved by The State Development and Reform Commission, and was granted as the State Software Industry Base of China jointly by China's State Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Information Industry of China in August, 2001. In 2004, the park was approved as the Game Software Development Base of Guangdong Province.
The East District (Phase I Park): It was put into operation in October 2000. It occupies 8 hectares of land and provides total 31, 000 sqm floor space. Now there are more than 70 famous Chinese and international companies located inside, including Ericsson Mobility World, the R&D Center of the City University of Hong Kong. In addition, Motorola and Microsoft set up their training and business bases here.
The West District (Phase II Park): It was put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2004. It occupies 15 hectares of land and provides total 174, 000 sqm floor space, including four blocks naming International Software Plaza, Software Development and Production Buildings, the Theme Buildings and the Education & Training Buildings. Some multinational corporations such as US Citigroup, NACA logistic, Semikron Co., Ltd. and Orient Overseas Container Line have moved into the Park.
The Residence District: It occupies 11 hectares of land and can provide total 132, 000 sqm floor space (about 1000 units), including houses and apartments of different styles and sizes, Club, Shopping Center and Kindergarten, as well as assorted recreational facilities. The construction has started and planned to be completed in 2005.
