The solution includes two levels of fire protection: cabinet-level fire protection and pack-level fire protection. The pack-level fire protection is passive, with an aerosol fire extinguishing device installed in each battery pack, activated by a thermal sensor. The cabinet-level fire protection consists of independent smoke and temperature sensors, along with a cabinet-level aerosol fire extinguishing device. Additionally, according to project requirements, an independent explosion-proof carbon monoxide detector can be configured to monitor the concentration of combustible gases in the cabinet. When the combustible gas detector alarms, the ventilation system is activated to prevent the accumulation of combustible gases.
Scheme composition
The plan consists of pack-level fire protection and cabinet-level fire protection:
PACK-level fire protection: One thermal aerosol fire suppression device is installed in each pack. The fire suppression device is activated by a thermal sensitive wire. When a thermal runaway occurs within the pack, the thermal sensitive wire senses the abnormal high temperature and, upon reaching the activation temperature, the fire suppression device automatically starts, without requiring an external signal.
Cabinet-level fire protection: Cabinet-level fire protection is triggered by independent smoke and temperature sensors that detect the signal of an out-of-control fire. Both the smoke sensor and the temperature sensor are certified with CE and can output dry contact alarm signals. When both the smoke sensor and the temperature sensor trigger an alarm, the sound and light alarm is activated and the cabinet-level fire extinguishing device is automatically started; when only the smoke sensor triggers an alarm, the sound and light alarm is activated; when only the temperature sensor triggers an alarm, the alarm condition is not met and the system does not act.
Smoke exhaust ventilation system (optional): An optional smoke exhaust ventilation system controlled by an explosion-proof carbon monoxide detector can be selected. When the carbon monoxide detector triggers an alarm, the smoke exhaust ventilation system will be activated to prevent the accumulation of flammable gas in the cabinet; when the alarm of the carbon monoxide detector disappears, the smoke exhaust ventilation system will be shut down.
