Guangzhou Chen Li Ji Company was founded in the period of the Wanli reign of Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 400 years, together with Beijing Tong Ren Tang and Hangzhou Hu Qing Yu Tang, as the three holy halls of Chinese medicine, each of which earned their own fames by distinguished features respectively. The invention of honey pill wrapped with wax by Chen Li Ji has already become an industrial standard. In recent years Chen Li Ji was awarded the title China Old Brand by the government.

The motivations of Chen Li Ji, a representative enterprise of the South Chinese Medicine, to set up the Chinese Medicine Museum are: Firstly to create a platform for enriching and promotion of enterprise culture; Secondly to fulfill the responsibility for preservation, protection, exhibition and utilization of the nonphysical cultural heritage of the Chinese medicine and the processing technology of Chinese medicine; Thirdly to introduce, educate and popularize the knowledge of Chinese medicine, making it a golden key to unlock the door of good health and an educational base for publicizing and carrying forward Chinese traditional culture.
