Unified unit system (Unit System):

It is mandatory to use the International System of Units (SI units) in all documents, test reports and specifications related to the EES system.

The most commonly used physical quantities in the EES system (such as energy, power, voltage, current, time, temperature, capacity, etc.) are clarified in their standard SI units and allowed multiple units (such as kWh, MW, kV, °C, Ah).

Significance: It completely eliminates misunderstandings and conversion errors caused by unit confusion and ensures consistency in data expression worldwide.

General Principles for Test Methods:

Test Purpose Clarity: Emphasizes that any test must have a clearly defined purpose (e.g. verifying ratings, evaluating performance degradation, confirming safety features).

Test Condition Standardization: Specifies that the test must be conducted under strictly defined and controlled standard test conditions. This typically includes:

Environmental Conditions: Reference temperature (e.g. 25°C ± 2°C), relative humidity range, atmospheric pressure.

Initial State: The specific state of charge (SOC) and temperature that the EES system (or unit) should reach before testing.

Stability Criteria: Clarifies the definition of the system reaching a "stable state" between test steps or before the start of the test (e.g. temperature change rate, voltage change rate threshold).

Measurement Accuracy Requirements: Minimum requirements (usually better than Class 0.5 or Class 1) are set for the accuracy level of measuring instruments (voltmeters, ammeters, power analyzers, temperature sensors, etc.), and specifies calibration cycles to ensure accurate and reliable data.

Data Recording and Reporting: It is required that the original data, test conditions, instrument information, environmental parameters, etc. must be recorded, and the test report must contain sufficient information to ensure traceability and repeatability.

State of the object under test (DUT): It is required to clearly describe the state of the DUT (such as aging degree, historical cycle number) in the report.

General Safety-Related Test Requirements:

Lay the foundation for subsequent specific safety test standards (such as battery safety, electrical safety, mechanical safety, and environmental safety).

Emphasize risk assessment and protective measures for safety testing: It is required that risk assessment must be conducted before designing and executing tests that may cause dangers (such as thermal runaway, arcing, and explosions), and that complete safety plans and protective facilities must be formulated.

It is stipulated that safety testing usually needs to be carried out in a controlled environment (such as an explosion-proof room) and operated by trained personnel.

It is required to record any abnormalities or safety events during the test.

Test Sequence and Preconditioning:

A general sequence for performance tests (e.g., capacity, efficiency) and safety tests is recommended (usually non-destructive performance tests are performed first, followed by potentially destructive safety tests).
