In March 2008, Shandong Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. Was established, and Ji'Gang became a major member of Shandong Iron and Steel Group. In 2016, Due to the new rule of government, Ji'Gang had paused a big part of the production.
From 1958, when the factory was established, to the suspension of steel production, the company produced 155 million tons of iron, 137 million tons of steel. Profits and taxes reached 31.6 billion yuan.
Under the leadership of the government, Ji'Gang began to upgrade its industry after stopping most of its production. From "surviving on steel" to "developing without steel production", it took four years to walk out of a new road. After the completion of industrial upgrading, Ji'Gang achieved operating revenue of 14.7 billion yuan in 2018, up 59.49% from the previous year, and 22.5 billion yuan in 2019, up 53.06% from the previous year. In 2020, it will achieve 29.3 billion yuan in operating revenue, and its volume will basically return to the level before industrial upgrading.
In December 2021, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the provincial government, Ji'Gang was transferred to Jinan city as a whole and became a municipal first-class enterprise of Jinan city.
At present, Ji'Gang has involved in a number of fields, including: Metallurgical And Engineering, Steel Deep Processing, Steel Industry Investment, Steel International Trade, Social Services. With more than 20 branch companies in different fields.
