The Middle East International Exhibition (MIE Group, UFI member) was established in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 2000. It is one of the earliest professional exhibition organizations established in the UAE and pioneered Chinese companies to participate in exhibitions in the Middle East in the form of exhibition groups. After the Dubai exhibition market matured, MIE Group successively opened up neighboring countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, Egypt, etc., becoming the general agent of more than 100 well-known international exhibitions in the local area, and helping more than 80000 Chinese outward oriented enterprises enter the Middle East and Africa markets. During the same period, MIE Group established multiple branches worldwide, gradually forming the development concept and service characteristics of "based in the Middle East and Africa, providing one-stop services for enterprises".

In 2010, MIE Group collaborated with the China Chamber of International Commerce and established an international exhibition expert team in Dubai to integrate domestic and international resources and plan to hold the "China TradeWeek" (CTW) self owned brand exhibition in the Middle East and Africa region. Since 2013, under the leadership of the national the Belt and Road initiative, the "China Trade Week" has successfully landed in the United Arab Emirates, Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, Morocco, South Africa and Oman, and plans to achieve full coverage of African countries with exhibition conditions in the next five years. The positioning of "China Trade Week" has brought "China's high-quality brand goods" to countries along the "the Belt and Road", changing the local impression of low grade and poor quality of Chinese products; At the same time, it is also an international exchange platform, with various seminars and exchange activities held simultaneously, attended by government officials, industry associations, and business representatives from both countries. The content covers policy interpretation, investment guides, business etiquette, and cultural exchanges.

The "China Trade Week" has become an important achievement of the implementation of the "the Belt and Road" project in the Middle East and Africa. Its popularity and influence are growing. Many local national television stations have interviewed the organizing committee. CCTV News Channel, Xinhua News Agency, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese embassies abroad, and others have also reported on it multiple times. The Kenya China Trade Week has also been certified by the International Federation of Exhibitions (UFI), making it the largest exhibition in East Africa.
