Detailed operational procedures about Zhapu Port:

1. Shipper should organize container loading plan at least two days before customs clearance(mother shipping cut-off time ago).

2. All the cargos can be finished the customs clearance and wharf release directly in Zhapu Port (there is no restriction of cut-off time at Zhapu).

3. After completing all formalities, the feeder vessels are able to transport cargos to Ningbo.

Brief Introduction of Feeder Service in Foreign Trade

Jiaxing Zhapu Port and Ningbo Port successfully started to collaborate particularly on this feeder service for foreign trade in March 2008. In the same year, Ningbo Port Group has already purchased a great share of Zhapu Port by the end of July, which made the two get more close cooperation by feeder service. So far there are three or four feeder vessels daily shipping between Zhapu and Ningbo on weekdays(normal vessel schedule: ETD Zhapu 24: 00ETA Ningbo in next morning).

The world's top 20 shipping companies have signed the agreement with us for Zhapu-Ningbo feeder service right now. Zhapu Port also accepts the same shipping lines as Ningbo Port.

Port Services

Ningbo and Jiaxing Zhapu, the two ports pledged full cooperation with each other to support the implement of feeder services.

1. In Zhapu, customs declaration must have the container number, so all the cargos can only be released by Customs after the containers being delivered to the port district.

The Zhapu Customs accept the declaration only from Monday to Friday as well as the Ningbo doing transferring, but in Ningbo there's still able to request for customs transfer on weekend.
2. Shippers who located in Hangzhou, Huzhou, Jiangxing and some districts around Hangzhou also could declare cargos at their own local Customs and release at Zhapu.

3. Compared to other Ports' Customs inspection rate, Zhapu is much lower. If cargo has no problem, it only takes 2-3 working hours for the whole inspection. And shippers could catch the planned vessel without any delay.

Normally if cargo has already inspected in Zhapu, there's no reason for Ningbo Customs to do the re-inspection. What's more, if the inspection has occurred in Zhapu port, the expense incurred would be much lower than other ports.
